Here’s a custom Genesis/Mega Drive board you can use to make your own games. These work in both Genesis and Mega Drive consoles. A tutorial on how to use these boards is coming. In the meantime, here’s a short explanation:

If your game does not save, you need:
– EPROM (27C160, or 27C322)
– C1, electrolytic capacitor (22 uF)
– C4, ceramic capacitor (0.1 uF, surface mount size 0805)
– Bridge the pad on the back of the board underneath IC3 with solder

If your game saves, you need:
– EPROM (27C160, or 27C322)
– SRAM (256K, series 62256)
– Battery (CR2032)
– C1, electrolytic capacitor (22 uF)
– C2, C3, C4, C5; ceramic capacitors (0.1 uF, surface mount size 0805)
– D1, D2; diode rectifiers (size SMA, or SOD-123)
– R1, resistor (approx. 220 ohm, surface mount size 0805)
– RB, resistor (approx. 1 kohm, surface mount size 0805)
– RC, resistor (approx. 10 kohm, surface mount size 0805)
– Q1, NPN transistor (2N2222 or equivalent)
– IC2, flip-flop (74HC74 or equivalent)
– IC3, decoder (74HC139 or equivalent)
– Bridge the pad on the back of the board, top right
